Virginia Active Angel Network (VAAN) is a professionally managed and member-led group of accredited investors that has met monthly in a dinner model in Charlottesville, VA since 2005. Members from outside of Charlottesville, in Blacksburg, Roanoke, Richmond, NY and Georgia participate either by driving to the Charlottesville dinner or through our video presentations through on-line access. In this model, VAAN allows the presenters to still reach a larger investing membership while reducing the number of members that must travel to local dinners.
VAAN is currently reviewing the dinner model while awaiting changes occuring in the economy, crowdsourcing and upcoming taxes. Therefore, while VAAN is reviewing submissions, it is spending 2013 helping companies to meet their goals through advising services and introductions (see tab on consulting/advising help/services).
And while VAAN has invested in companies from early and seed stage ventures primarily in the central and southern Virginia region, and the greater region, including Maryland, Washington DC, North Carolina, Kentucky and West Virginia, VAAN Managing Partner, Letitia Green, provides services to all early and seed-stage companies through a consulting service model across any areas. VAAN also has syndicated opportunities with other Angel Capital Association angel groups as a member of the Angel Capital Association.

Though VAAN will get back to you, we are currently overwhelmed with requests for funding, and are giving priority to companies looking for early stage/seed stage low cost but highly valued direction and consulting. Given our movement towards a consulting model (and private introduction and investing model by the Managing Partner and other interested investors), funding responses take more time. Please be patient if funding is all you need.
There is NO cost to submit through our system. It is never shared with anyone else and only comes to the Managing Partner, Letitia Green, of VAAN and no one else. The system will "ping" the Managing Partner to indicate your submission has been submitted. You will also receive a confirmation. No one else but the screening committee sees anything you have submitted until we speak to you first! Just us.
